China to clamp down on football gambling

CHINA - China has vowed to take a strong stand against football gambling, the Indo-Asian News Service reported.
A football association figure described football gambling as "a tumour" and encouraged the public to report it, the report explained.
The football association will now offer rewards for tip offs, the Indo-Asian News Service said.
The move comes after the conviction of 10 people yesterday in a match-fixing case that resulted in some 10 year sentences, the report made note.
